Announcement of the results of the "Name the Galaxies! - Let's think of a nickname for the galaxy -" contest
Tue. February 3, 2026
We are pleased to announce the results of "Name the Galaxies! - Naming Galaxies," an event related to the "Space Travel Photography Exhibition" celebrating the first anniversary of Space Travelium TeNQ, which was held from Thu., November 20, 2025, to Mon., January 12, 2026 (a public holiday).
◇ Announcement of results
We will be announcing four works in total for the National Astronomical Observatory Award and TeNQ Award. We hope that this will help you feel closer to the galaxy. Thank you very much for your participation!

National Astronomical Observatory Award
Junichi Watanabe (Senior Professor, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan) selected[Prize: Starlight]
I thought it was wonderful how the artist's sensitivity allowed them to straightforwardly liken the shapes of intricately intertwined, colliding, interacting galaxies to clover leaves. While some interpretations require considerable effort or are overly twisted, the simple and beautiful description of 'shining' is received very naturally.

National Astronomical Observatory Award
Hitoshi Yamaoka (Associate Professor, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan) selected[Prize: Telescope]
The leap toward the right was full of dynamism, and its front legs were cute. There is a constellation called 'Lacerta,' but to which constellation does this celestial object belong? It actually belongs to Cetus.

TeNQ Award 1st term
[Prize: TeNQ Space Store Goods]
The shape is reminiscent of records, which are rare these days. It also conveys the idea that various events are "recorded," which is nice!

TeNQ Award 2nd term
[Prize: TeNQ Space Store Goods]
After seeing the nickname and looking at this galaxy, I felt a sense of agreement. I would like to choose this as the favorite galaxy of the person in charge.
- Image taken from "GALAXY CRUISE." "GALAXY CRUISE" will be ending at the end of October 2026, so new participants will not be accepted.
