Special Exhibition
Space Travelium TeNQ Space Brothers Exhibition 2026
January 16, 2026 Fri.- April 19, 2026 Sun.
Event Contents
Eighteen years after its serialization began in Morning (Kodansha) in December 2007, the manga Space Brothers has been announced to conclude with the next volume, volume 46. 2026 is also the year in which the story begins, when the older brother, Mutta, passes the astronaut selection test and the younger brother, Hibito, becomes the first Japanese person to land on the moon.
The characters in Space Brothers, including Mutta and Hibito, have passed through many "doors" as they achieve great things and overcome trials. Beyond these doors awaits a major event that will mark a turning point in their lives, such as the moment their dreams come true. Space Brothers can be seen as a story about opening such "small doors of dreams."
This exhibition, with the theme of "Doors of Dreams," will once again focus on the origins and beginnings of the story, and will be an exhibit that will encourage visitors to take on new challenges. In addition to looking back on the trajectory of the story through a timeline and character assessments, visitors will be able to deeply experience the appeal of the work through a variety of exhibits, including an exhibit that focuses on behind the scenes of the work, such as the creative studio of author Chuya Koyama, and a photogenic space based on Brian J's famous line from the work, "There are many 'Doors of Dreams' in a person's life."

◇Main exhibit contents
◆ AREA 1: The beginning of a dream
The book explores the bonds between the characters who continue to challenge space through a relationship chart, analyzes the character types and personalities, and introduces the story's trajectory in chronological order. It looks back on Space Brothers while touching on the beginning of the story.
◆ AREA 2: Space Brothers and the world of space
The exhibition will feature valuable personal items such as the creator, Chuya Koyama, and the author's work studio, as well as notes and reference tools from when the series first began. Furthermore, the exhibition will delve deeper into "Space Brothers" by delving into the behind-the-scenes aspects of the creation process, including questions such as how far the total number of copies of the comic would reach if they were added up, and by incorporating real figures and data on space development.
◆ AREA 3: There are many "doors to dreams" in life
Based on a story that begins with Brian J., the great astronaut from "Space Brothers," telling children, "There are many 'doors to dreams' in a person's life," the exhibition will center around a spatial display of three-dimensional doors that make it seem as though one is passing through the doors of dreams, interspersed with hanging displays of reproductions of original drawings and famous quotes. Furthermore, the exhibition will also focus on the activities and missions of Mutta and Hibito on the moon, making it a photogenic, interactive area where the present and future of "Space Brothers" intersect.

What is "Space Brothers"?
The series began serialization in Morning (Kodansha) in 2007. It follows Ryota, who, now in his 30s, pursues the ambitious dream of becoming an astronaut, while his younger brother, Hibito, achieves his dream before Ryota and steps onto the moon. The intense human drama that centers around these two characters, their space-seeking friends, and the people who support them has been well-received, and its popularity has exploded as the series has progressed. In 2011, it won both the 56th Shogakukan Manga Award (General Category) and the 35th Kodansha Manga Award (General Category). As of October 2025 (45 volumes published), it has become a smash hit, with a total circulation of over 34 million copies, including digital editions.
