"Boxing Day" Fan Appreciation Event (May 19, 2010)

A "Boxing Day" fan appreciation event was held.

On May 19, 1952, Yoshio Shirai (deceased) defeated Dado Marino (USA) in the "World Flyweight Championship Match" held at Korakuen Stadium (at the time) to become the first Japanese boxing world champion. 58 years after this achievement, on May 19, 2010, a boxing fan appreciation event was held at Korakuen Hall.

In addition to the packed program, the day also featured the "Professional boxing World Champions Association Inauguration Ceremony" with past world champions in attendance, making it a very enjoyable evening for boxing fans.
