2013年度東京ドームMVP賞が決定！

Every year, Tokyo Dome Corporation presents the Tokyo Dome MVP Award to the player from the Yomiuri Giants, whose franchise is the Tokyo Dome Dome, who has performed most outstandingly in official games at Tokyo Dome. This year's winner is Kentaro Nishimura.

Nishimura recorded 42 saves this season, earning him the title of most saves pitcher in the Central League for the first time. He also pitched in 33 games at Tokyo Dome, the most on the team, recording impressive results of 4 wins, 17 saves, and an ERA of 0.52, making a major contribution to the Giants' consecutive Central League championships.

The awards ceremony was held on October 23rd at the Suite Restaurants inside Tokyo Dome, and Nishimura was presented with a prize of 3 million yen by our company's President and CEO, Shinji Hisayo.

Additionally, we presented Tomoyuki Sugano with the Tokyo Dome Rookie MVP Award, with the hope that he will excel next season and beyond.
Since making his start in the second game of the season, Sugano has pitched a team-high 82 2/3 innings at Tokyo Dome, striking out 82 batters and posting a 2.72 ERA. His consistent performance throughout the year was the reason he was awarded the prize.

Sugano was awarded a prize of 1 million yen.

I knew about the MVP award but I never thought I would win it, so I'm very happy.
The mound at Tokyo Dome makes it easy to pitch because the distance to the catcher feels close, and my appearance on September 22nd, the game that clinched the league championship this season, was particularly memorable.
I will do my best in Japan Series so that I can be on the mound when the team becomes number one in Japan.

I am especially happy to receive this award together with Nishimura, who has competed alongside me this season.
Tokyo Dome is a stadium that holds a special meaning for me, as I've been coming here since I was a child to support the Giants. I hope that many people will continue to come and see me pitch on the mound.
I will do my best to win the MVP award next season.
