Prohibition of illegal ticket resale
The terms and conditions of the match viewing contract prohibit the resale of tickets without the organizer's permission.
In addition, tickets for games hosted by the Yomiuri Giants are considered "event tickets" as defined in the "Act on Ensuring the Proper Distribution of Event Tickets by Prohibiting the Illegal Resale of Specified Event Tickets, etc." (Ticket Illegal Resale Prohibition Act), and it is prohibited to resell them illegally or to acquire tickets with the intent to resell them illegally.
Violations are subject to criminal penalties, including imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of up to 1 million yen, or both. Illegal ticket resale robs Baseball fans of the opportunity to watch games fairly and equitably. The Yomiuri Giants and the Yomiuri Shimbun will report any illegal resales to the police and will take measures such as refusing to sell tickets or prohibiting entry in accordance with the terms and conditions of the game viewing contract.
