The Korakuen Stadium completion ceremony was held. After the ceremony, an all-star game was held, during which Shigeru Mizuhara of the Giants hit the first home run.

The first National Intercity Baseball Tournament (the 12th) is held at Korakuen (it has continued to be held at Korakuen ever since).

In the game against the Tigers at Korakuen, Giants' Starfin recorded his season-high 42 wins.

(1943)

Due to shortages of supplies during the war, 18,000 steel chairs were donated to the stadium.

Following Japan's defeat in the war, Korakuen was taken over by the occupying forces (it was released the following year).
