2009年度 東京ドームMVP賞が決定！

Every year, Tokyo Dome Corporation presents the Tokyo Dome MVP Award to one player from the Yomiuri Giants, whose franchise is the Tokyo Dome Tokyo Dome who has performed most outstandingly in official games at the Dome. The 2009 recipient has now been selected as Hayato Sakamoto.

Sakamoto played in every game at Tokyo Dome, and also led the team in hits with a batting average of .327. He also led the team as leadoff hitter, contributing greatly to the team's victory on both offense and defense.

The awards ceremony was held at the Suite Restaurants inside Tokyo Dome on November 19th, and Sakamoto was presented with a prize of 3 million yen by our President and CEO, Shinji Hisayo.

Last year, Sakamoto won the Tokyo Dome MVP Special Award, and this year he even surpassed last year in performance and was awarded the Tokyo Dome MVP Award.

In addition, Tetsuya Matsumoto, who won the Central League Rookie of the Year award this season, was presented with the Tokyo Dome MVP Special Award with the hopes of seeing even more from next season onwards. He contributed to the team's victory with his tenacious batting and aggressive defense, including recording the team's highest number of sacrifice hits with 15.

Matsumoto was presented with a special award and a prize of 1 million yen. This marks the second consecutive year that a special award has been selected, following last year's winners Sakamoto and Yamaguchi.
