2014年度 東京ドームMVP賞が決定！
Every year, Tokyo Dome Corporation presents the Tokyo Dome MVP Award to the player from the Yomiuri Giants, whose franchise is the Tokyo Dome Dome, who has performed most outstandingly in official games at Tokyo Dome. This year's winner is Sugano Tomoyuki.
This season, Sugano won the title of the Central League's best ERA pitcher, and also recorded an outstanding record at Tokyo Dome with 5 wins and 1 loss, 2 complete games, and an ERA of 2.34, making a major contribution to the Giants' third consecutive Central League championship.
Additionally, in the memorable year marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Yomiuri Giants baseball team, Manager Hara was presented with the Tokyo Dome Special Award for leading the team to victory in the league.
The Giants, who won the pennant race as a unified team led by Manager Hara, played 63 games at Tokyo Dome this season, leaving a good record of 38 wins, 24 losses and 1 draw, a winning percentage of .613. They showed tenacity especially in close games, and in games with a difference of 2 points or less, they recorded a high winning percentage of .655, with 19 wins and 10 losses, which captivated many fans.
The awards ceremony was held at the suite Restaurants inside Tokyo Dome on October 22nd, with Sugano and Manager Hara each receiving a prize of 3 million yen from our President and CEO, Shinji Hisayo.

Last year I received the Special Rookie Award, and at that time I said that I would aim to be the MVP, so I'm glad I was able to keep my word.
However, there are still many challenges ahead, so I will continue to work hard so that I can receive this award again next year and beyond.
This season was my first time as the opening pitcher, and next season I would like to be on the mound again in the opening game at Tokyo Dome, and pitch throughout the year in Climax Series and Japan Series, making it a great season.

This season was a tough one, but the team's condition improved in September and we were able to win the league championship. The more we struggled, the more joyful it was.
In recent years, at games held at Tokyo Dome, we have been supported by a wide range of fans, regardless of gender or age, and we are grateful for the fantastic atmosphere.
I think we will be a different team next season than we were this year, but we will build a strong team, so please look forward to it.
