2016年度 東京ドームMVP賞が決定！
Tokyo Dome Corporation annually presents the Tokyo Dome MVP Award to the player from the Yomiuri Giants, whose franchise is the Tokyo Dome Dome, who has performed most outstandingly in official games at Tokyo Dome. The 2016 recipient has now been selected as Hayato Sakamoto.
As captain and leading the team, Sakamoto achieved his first career title as the Central League's batting champion and highest on-base percentage, and demonstrated outstanding performance on both offense and defense as one of the league's best shortstops.
At Tokyo Dome, he recorded impressive results, leading the team in batting average, hits, and stolen bases, and in September he hit his 150th career home run, brilliantly living up to the expectations of many fans.
The award ceremony was held at the suite Restaurants inside Tokyo Dome on October 18th, and Tokyo Dome President and CEO Tsutomu Nagaoka presented Sakamoto with a prize of 3 million yen.

This is my second Tokyo Dome MVP award since 2009, and this time I received the award after having already won the title, so I am very happy.
This is the second time I've won the award in the 10 years since I joined the Giants, so I'll do my best to win it about five more times.
Tokyo Dome is my favorite baseball stadium in Japan and I am always grateful to it.
This year was disappointing for both the fans and the players, so we will work even harder next season to win the league championship.
