2017年度 東京ドームMVP賞が決定！
Tokyo Dome Corporation annually presents the Tokyo Dome MVP Award to the player from the Yomiuri Giants, whose franchise is the Tokyo Dome Dome, who has performed most outstandingly in official games at Tokyo Dome. The 2017 recipient has now been selected as Sugano Tomoyuki.
Sugano, who received the Tokyo Dome MVP Award, won the titles of most wins pitcher and best ERA pitcher in the Central League this season, and also recorded an excellent record at Tokyo Dome with 9 wins and 2 losses (3 complete games, 1 shutout), 93 strikeouts, and an ERA of 1.45, all of which were team-leading. In the World Baseball Classic, the first and second rounds of which were held at Tokyo Dome, he also contributed greatly to the team's advancement to the semi-finals as the ace pitcher of the Japanese national team.
For winning the Tokyo Dome MVP Award for the second time since 2014, Sugano will be presented with a prize of 3 million yen by Tokyo Dome.

I am extremely happy to receive such a wonderful award.
Tokyo Dome is a stadium I've dreamed of playing at since I was a child, and I still feel as fresh when I step onto the mound as I did when I first joined the team. I want to keep this feeling as important as ever as I continue playing Baseball for a long time. Next season, we'll aim to win the league championship, and I'll do my best to compete with the team's pitchers for this award and win it again.
